We want the surface to both be able to retain moisture as well as drain the water. We have found Silica offers the perfect balance of this while still maintaining support for our horses while training. We need the granules of the sand to be able to interlock in order to offer support to the horse. This interlocking property as well as the depth of the surface is important In ensuring the surface can carry the weight of the horse and rider. We want the surface the hold underneath and absorb the force of the foot. We do not want the surface to be displaced by the force of foot causing the foot to hit the hard compact base of the arena. The interlocking property is further improved by adding Equefibre to the surface.

Premixed Surfaces
Our premix surface allows you to top-up your arena easily and time efficiently. The surface is mixed at the perfect silica sand to fibre ratio. The combination of the two products creates a surface which prevents injury to the horse by optimising impact absorption, traction and stability. Exactly as with the addition of fibre to the correct sand ratio we can create a synthetic surface which resembles the horse’s natural grass surface while allowing for sport needs and all year round usage.
